It all started when…
Many people ask me, “When did you start baking?” and the answer is, as soon as I could stand! Yup, that’s me, the little one in the photo above baking with my mom when I was about 2 years old.
My name is Kayla, I own & run Taste Buds Bakery in my home under the cottage law! I got licensed and started taking public orders right around the same time I started college at the University of Arizona. I recently graduated with an MIS degree at the Eller College of Management! Now I work full time time and at the moment public orders are closed because I just bought my first home! Luckily I’m not moving too far, just to Gladden Farms, I hope to reopen public orders this year (2024)!
I’m a licensed home baker, have a ServSafe Managers food handlers card and I am completely self-taught! I started teaching myself to decorate cakes when I was in elementary school and I started selling cupcakes to family friends in middle school, going by the name ‘Kayla’s Cakes’ back then. My dad helped me come up with the name Taste Buds Bakery when I was in high school!
